December 2016 dorados and sailfish season in Punta Cana

Dear anglers today December 7th  was a great fishing day, we had 12 dorados and 2 sailfish released. Fishing in Punta Cana been very successful for the past 3 months been catching blue marlins, wahoos,giants barracudas,bonitos and some white marlin late September. We can not complain about 2016 fishing year. At this period of the year we are suppose to have just  the sailfish running but we are catching the dorados in big quantity and size 25 to 40 pounds average. Come and fish with the best crew of Punta Cana you will not regret!!

Punta Cana sports fishing after Hurricane Matthew..

We been shut up for more than 4 days because of  Matthew Hurricane but now we have a calmer ocean  to fish offshore Punta Cana, at this period of the years it is very common to fish for the giants dorados, blue marlins and of course the yellowfin tunas, if the sun shine tomorrow and Matthew keep it trajectory to the Bahamas and Florida the water get calmer and we will have a dorados and blue Marlin successful fishing day. We keep the finger crossed for our tomorrow fishing day  10-06-2016.

Punta Cana summer fishing report.

This summer  been a sucsessful time of the year, we been catching a lot of dorados, wahoos,barracudas,bonitos and some big blues (blue marlins). Punta Cana been the most developed tourism fishing destination because of it location and it great  wheather conditions. Blue marlins over 450 pounds and dorados over 50 pounds been catch at this period of the year.

Targeting white and blue marlin in Punta Cana.

Yesterday May 27th we got 2 white marlin and 4 dorados, with our Shekina fishing boat. Our captain Emilio had a great time with our customers from Colorado USA. We are catching many fishes now a day because of dorados and marlin running.

Dominican republic Sail fish and white Marlin season in Punta Cana

Dear fishing enthusiast sail fish season in on top right now we are targeting big Atlantic sailfish and some white marlins. Yesterday we had a double strike of sail fish and had 2 dorados and small 10 pounds wahoo.  The ocean been very calm these days from 3 to 5 foot offshore.  Fishing  at this period of the year is a blast we always go out and come with something .

Punta Cana fisihing for Sailfish,dorados and wahoos.

During this winter we been chasing the sailfish, dorados,wahoos, barracudas and some bonitos. The weather condition are safe for beginner or experienced fisherman our captain and mates are very optimist and while water get warmer in the  Caribbean special on Atlantic side they are preparing the equipment for the spring white marlin season, April, May,June are the hottest month to get the big Atlantic white marlins, now sailfish, dorados (Dolphins fish)  and wahoos are the common catch. The temperature around 28 Celsius during day and 23 Celsius at night. Sea conditions 4 feet open water.

Sailfish and dorados fishing report in Punta Cana.

This morning we were out for a 4 hours private charter boat with two couple from New York city and had a great morning fishing we caught 3 dolphins and a 35 pounds Atlantic sailfish  it was release because of it small size.  We trolled from the east side of Punta Cana to the west side at only 5 miles we had the sailfish strike and couple hours later had the dolphins( Mahi-mahi) hit.
The sea conditions been agreeable 25 Celsius morning and 28 Celcious afternoon. The sea conditions 4 to 5 feet waves in deep water. We had a awesome trip.

Yellow fin tunas and dorados in Punta Cana Dominican Republic.

We been fishing for more than 20 years along Punta Cana area and never had a yellow fin tuna strike during January, this fish usually visit our local water during summer time season it is why fishing is called fishing. Our 42 footer boat INTREPIDO had a great fishing day with 15 dorados and 1 Yellow fin tuna, Our Punta Cana Fishing  captains and mates are very exited with the ocean conditions right now.

Sailfish and Dorados Fishing in Punta Cana.

We were out fishing for a new year 2016 adventures, we got on board about 8:25 am from El Cortecito Bavaro, we ran the boat for about 10 minutes to reef and cross the pass, we cleared reef around 9:20 am then we started preparing the equipment, lines in the water 10 minutes later. We moved from west to the east following the currents about 45 minutes later we had our first strike it was a little female Dorado( Mahi Mahi), we were a bit happy for our first hit and put lines again in the water and find a big floating plastic thing, then we moved in circle and had two lines hooked at once, at this time we had 2 dorados again but in bigger size about 35 pounds each, back again lines in the water and not more strikes, we kept moving to the east side and about 2 hours later we had our last strike it was a sailfish with almost 50 pounds, it was released because of it small size. Condition in Punta Cana still agreeable with temperature of 28 Celsius 82 F. Wind from the east from 3 to 5 mph.

“Great fishing Trip!!!”

Brought a group of clients to Punta Cana and being from MN, we love to fish. 8 went fishing. 6 actually fished! The crew took care of the two that didn't like the waves!! Blue Marlin and dorados high season in Punta Cana Dominican Republic

Yesterday October 11th been a very successful fishing day we had 31 dorados and 1 blue marlin released. our captain Cacheo "Mr. Catch" driving our 42 footer Bertram for a 8 hours private charter boat with a 5 fisherman start moving eastern to the banks right upfront Punta Cana, he found a current of see weeds and a big floating wood, moving around had the first strikes of dorados suddenly all rods were hooked in almost 35  minutes they had 40 dorados on board. After couple hours later had a blue marlin strike which was released because of it small size.

Fishing report in September after Erika storm in Punta Cana

 Yesterday September 2nd after 4 days hit by heavy tides, the ocean calm down and we were out of a 5 hours VIP charter and had 25 dorados a white marlin bite and small wahoo, If the water condition stay as today we will be having a lot of actions for the small (dolphin fishes)dorados schools and white and blue marlins.

I invite all fishermen to fish at this period for small dorados,big blues and white marlins.

Blue Marlins on the hook in Punta Cana

Yesterday our boat Shekinah skippered by Cacheo( Mr. Catch) hat 2 strikes of blue marlins. One of the animal was about 400 pounds and the other one was about 250 pounds both fishes were leased respecting the Punta Cana fishing rules. The ocean is very calm during the summer time, temperatures are agreeable  28 Celsius  and max 31.

Succesful blue marlin fishing day in Punta Cana.

To day July 20th 2015 we had 2 blue marlins caught 390 pounds and a 270 pounds. Our boat had just 2 strikes and were very good, almost 3 hours fight.

Blue marlin fishing during June in Punta Cana, dorado and barracuda.

Hi my beloved fishing enthusiast we been out of posting new reviews due to the big fishing trips scheduled during the spring season. Last June 1st we were fishing at only 7.3 miles offshore fishing for dorados (common catch) at this period, and suddenly we had a bite we did not know what is was we thought it was a big male dorados minutes later we notice it was a blue marlin so we had a big surprise, after 30 minutes of fight our mate and the customer landed the fish  with about 300 pounds. We kept trolling in the area and had some barracudas and dorados. Our customers were very happy and planning in coming next year to fish with us.

It is why fishing is call fishing!!

Great fishing day in Punta Cana.

I booked a private charter through Fishing Punta Cana. I booked a private 6 hour charter for myself and 3 friends. Captain Peter was great with setting up this charter. Our driver was early picking us up at the resort, and just a short ride to the Marina. Reading other reviews about people complaining about going through the gift shop to get to the water. Nobody pulled any weapons or made us buy anything. People need to have some balls and just say no thank you!!! I can honestly say this fishing trip far exceeded my expectations. This was my first deep sea fishing trip and will definitely go again. I believe our Cpt. was Alberto and the crew was Orland and Jose, they were great and worked their butts off, especially Orlando . They did everything possible to make this a great trip. Now to the fish. Started out a little slow but in the end we caught 13 Mahi Mahi and I believe 1 that they called a three prong. We had time very slow then times where we had 3 on at 1 time. Bottom line is, I would highly recommend Fishing Punta Cana fishing charters to anyone. I guarantee that if back in Punta Cana I will go fishing with them again. Thanks again to Cpt. Peter and the Cpt. and crew on our charter.

Punta Cana holy week fishing

This week fishing slow because we could not go out fishing due to restriction of motorize activities during the main week of the year. On holy Monday we were out fishing for dorados and white marlins and had some important strikes of dorados and a sailfish ( Sorry could not be released), Tuesday one of our boat had 3 wahoos and a white marlin released our last fishing day was Thursday and we had a barracuda and 6 mahimahi ( dorados) fishing is a big sport so one never know, hope next week we will have more actions and get the big ones.

More bites of dorados, white marlins in Punta Cana

Yesterday Sunday March 22nd we had one of the best fishing days, we caught a white marlin and 7 dorados at only 9.3 miles offshore, trolling with ballyhoos and some lures. The wind was blowing from eastern, ocean was very calm 3.4 feet open water, now it is the time to have calm ocean in Punta Cana, spring time is a very pleasant season concerning weather conditiions.

More dorados bites in Punta Cana Fishing Charters

Today we were out for a private 5  hours VIP charter service with 7 customers and we had a blast , we found floating raft at only 6 miles offshore, we were a bit optimist because it looked it has a lot of time floating in the sea, we trolled around with ballyhoos and some lures and rounding around we had the first bite and during reeling in a second bite was in the left side outrigger, then after a fight we had multiples bites at end we had 12 dorados in our afternoon fishing trip.
